"We took a group of students in our Historic Preservation program to a special dinner at Myrtle Grove. They enjoyed a fabulous meal in a beautifully restored antebellum home. The students raved about the dinner, but more so about the setting and the chance to view a restored home and its fine collection of antiques that are displayed around the house. It was an excellent opportunity for the students to see some restoration first hand. Joe and Dan gave a clear presentation on their process of bringing their home to the richness it is today."

""Yes, the setting is perfect, and the food is always beautiful and delicious. And yes, the service is gracious and professional. But I always remember how happy I feel when I depart from a Myrtle Grove event. That's what keeps me coming back."

"Our daughter's wedding was the most fun reception ever! Many of our guests were New Yorkers and southern hospitality charmed them completely but it was Myrtle Grove's organization and attention to detail that made it a wonderful experience for everyone! The newly opened dining rooms and the great yard made our evening memorable. The food was fantastic--barbeque in the pit with all the fixings outside with drinks on the deck as well as the fresh salads and homemade sweet potato ham biscuits in the dining room. Thanks to Dan and Joe for helping us give our family and friends a real southern picnic with taste and style. The bluegrass music and the fireworks topped it all! It wouldn't have happened so effortlessly without Dan and Joe's help in planning the event. Love you guys!"

"The feeling of graciousness that is present in both the environment itself and from those that are in the house. Just being at Myrtle Grove seems to bring out the best in people and takes you back to a time when nothing was more important than family and friends and celebrating the richness of life. Stepping into Myrtle Grove gives you a perspective on life itself. You realize that you are at the present moment participating in an event that will one day be history and that those that came before you (a hundred years ago) and those that come after you (many years from now) will be celebrating these same special events in their lives."

"Myrtle Grove has catered events at my home from baby showers to cocktail parties. Their presentation is always amazing with an impressive and unique arsenal of service items. I've also hosted and attended parties at Myrtle Grove Plantation. Their beautiful, eclectic home adds an unforgettable element to any party. Not one detail is overlooked. And, of course, the food! Joe and Dan use the freshest ingredients in the most original recipes -- this is not your typical catering menu. I love working with Joe and Dan -- they are true professionals!"

"We first discovered the enchanting Myrtle Grove approximately 3 yrs ago with a group of friends for dinner. We were so pleased with the whole experience, from walking in the front doors to a warm inviting atmosphere, to the absolutely delicious home cooked cuisine and least not forget the wonderful hospitality of our hosts--Joe and Dan, and then to end up the evening with an informative tour of the historical Myrtle Grove Plantation. We enjoyed it so much that we have been back several times since and look forward to returning again!"

"My company has an annual leadership workshop and attendance was always a problem until three years ago. We had our first event at Myrtle Grove, attendance was about usual, but when everyone went back and told those who didn't make it about the food and the amazing place, they felt left out. The last two years we have had almost 100% attendance and some of us have suggested we start having “monthly” leadership workshops...as long as they are all at Myrtle Grove."

"Myrtle Grove is amazing! I can't believe these guys, so much talent in so many ways. What they have done with the place will make you drop your chin. And the food, well I am a self-admitted picky eater. Chicken salad for example, I just won't eat just anybody's chicken salad, pretty much only my mother's, until I heard people talking about Joe's. Man, it's the BEST EVER, sorry Mama. Hey that boy can even make brussel sprouts taste good (yes, I have tried them). Now that's talent. One night I hurt my wife's feelings over the dinner she made. She suggested I call Myrtle Grove to see if I could go out for any leftovers they might have. I was game, but I think the locks may have been changed when I got back. Can't wait for another event to take me back to Myrtle Grove."

beautiful place but has a feel of home."

"Joe and Dan have catered several events that I have been directly involved with over the last several years and always with clarity of the event. Their food and presentation have always been extraordinary. They can accommodate any situation with ease, style, and grace whether it is presented at Myrtle Grove or off site. Always my first choice of caterers!"

"Being a guest at Myrtle Grove feels like being in a scene from a really cool movie. Wonderful times, delicious food, beautiful surroundings. Every visit leaves one looking forward to the next time."

"My daughter's wedding reception would not have been complete without Joe White of Myrtle Grove. I had never hosted such an event and had no clue where to start. From choosing a menu to answering my endless questions, he was polite, professional, and knowledgeable. His catering service is impeccable: the presentation was lovely and the food was beyond great. Months later people are still asking me who my cater was."

"My experience with Myrtle Grove has always been top of the line. I had the great opportunity to join you in events with friends and also hold a retreat with you for our Agent Leadership Council at Keller Williams Realty in Greenville. The service is excellent, the food superb and the atmosphere cannot be duplicated anywhere else. I am a satisfied customer and plan to return in the near future for more group events and, hopefully, enjoy your beautiful home with friends again in the months to come."

"We engaged Joe White of Myrtle Grove Plantation to cater two lawn parties for 150 people each. He carried them out with elegant flare, delectable foods, and reasonable prices. The same has been true when we've taken groups of friends to his beautiful home for sit-down dinners or large floating parties. He is top-of-the-line in the culinary arts. We have recommended him to all our friends who have thanked us for the introduction and are equally pleased with his outstanding catering services."

"My husband and I have attended many different occasions at Myrtle Grove, and they all have had that wonderful distinct flair that Joe and Dan possess, but at the top of my list was my daughter's after-wedding luncheon held on Sunday for the out of town guests. Our Northern friends experienced what real southern hospitality means, thanks to Joe and Dan!"

"Myrtle Grove has done an exceptional job in meeting our organization's catering
needs. Myrtle Grove has catered receptions, dinner parties, and luncheons--both large and small--and has done so with creativity and professionalism. The presentation of the dishes augments the quality of the dining experience. Every dish tastes delicious and is enjoyed by people of all ages and levels of discriminating tastes. Myrtle Grove is a true asset to Edgecombe County."

"Our Clinical Manager's group from the hospital attended a workshop at MG last fall. Joe graciously met us at the door and invited us into their home, and made us feel very welcome. Couldn't do enough to make sure we had all we needed for our meeting, equipment hook ups, etc. Lunch was indeed a treat for everyone, with Joe filling us in on the historical details of MG while we ate. The food was absolutely wonderful and tasty! You couldn't ask for two more gracious hosts and wonderful cooks!"

"Dining at Myrtle Grove Plantation is a unique dining experience. The food is delicious, service is exceptional, and the hospitality is the greatest. Touring the home is an additional bonus. Joe takes care of all the details for my dinner parties. I highly recommend Myrtle Grove Plantation."

"Myrtle Grove is 'excellent' defined: excellent food, excellent friends, and excellent ambiance year round."

"Our first experience with Joe and Myrtle Grove was when we asked him to cater a luncheon after our son's baptism. It was on a Sunday after our church service at a facility on our church grounds. Joe and Dan had transformed the location into a wonderful experience for all. The food was outstanding and not your average "luncheon fare". There was something for everyone and there was such attention to detail. There was a cart with sandwiches and special goodies for the children in attendance, of which there were many. I think that Joe and Dan actually impressed a lot of people there and got some subsequent business from it. There is not an occasion that I would not want Myrtle Grove to be a part of. They have helped us with Supper Clubs, small parties and gatherings and then larger events such as the baptism. They are wonderful to work with...so accommodating, conscientious, and pleasant to deal with, aside from the fact that the food is outstanding! They want your event to be a success as much as you do. I treasure my relationship with them as friends and as a customer. You would be missing out by not having them cater your next event!"
- MAW, Tarboro
"Beautifully presented and delicious food, creative menus for any budget, and outstanding service are all hallmarks of a Myrtle Grove catered event. Joe and Dan bring their meticulous attention to detail to every aspect of entertaining. Their wait staff is well trained - not only to "pass trays and pick up plates" but to extend itself to ensure your guests feel welcome and cared for. It is our pleasure to recommend their services from private luncheons to large events. Their catering expertise and excellent food are an asset to our community."

"The attributes that make Myrtle Grove so special are first of all Joe White and Dan Robertson. They are excellent to work with and more than happy to do whatever it takes to make an event enjoyable and memorable. The food they prepare is “to die for” and the presentation is exquisite. Many of our guests wanted to get their recipes. What most impressed us, however, was the service. Throughout the evening, dishes were collected and food was replenished. And, when they left on that evening, there was no trace a party had taken place. The kitchen was spotless and everything had been put back in place in the dining room. We, the hosts, could sit down, put our feet up and visit with family that remained after other guests had departed. This was a significant occasion made even more memorable by Joe and Dan’s attention to detail and excellent service. I would highly recommend them to anyone."
